Knowing the difference between an emergency (call 911) and a non-emergency substance abuse crisis and what to do in an overdose situation, can potentially save someone’s life.

Call 911 now if:

• The person is unconscious or you can’t wake them
• The person is having trouble breathing
• You suspect an overdose

Call a hotline if:

• You’re ready to take the first step toward treatment
• You’re concerned about your substance use or someone you love
• You want more information on your options
• You need someone to talk to

Remember: Hotlines can’t provide emergency overdose help or medical care. If you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

• National Alliance on Mental Illness Helpline: A free, confidential nationwide service that provides one-on-one emotional support, mental health information and resources. Call 800-950-6264 or text “NAMI” to 62640. For a mental health crisis, call/text 988.
• Pima County You Are Not Alone: Mental health help for youth/young adults up to age 24. Eligible youth can receive up to five free therapy sessions through La Frontera.
• Pima County Youth Health Hub: A directory of service providers for youth up to age 24
